Let’s include everyone!
The Episcopal Church must open its doors to become more inclusive and find ways to make itself relevant beyond Sunday mornings, its presiding bishop said Friday as she prepared to take part in the Diocese of Milwaukee’s annual convention.
Let’s include atheists, paedophiles, pagans, neo-pagans, Muslims, Universalists, Druids and polyamorists. Oh, hang on, we already do: we make them bishops.
as usual everyone left out hard core traditionalists.
atheists, paedophiles, pagans, neo-pagans, Muslims, Universalists, Druids and polyamorists
can you name specific examples, with proper citations f each of these people being a bishop in the anglican church?
Comic hyperbole; the very fact that you ask is an indicator of the depths to Western Anglicanism has sunk.
I did have Rowan in mind for the Druid position, though.
Ok, so they didn’t make her a bishop – (and I think she was eventually defrocked), but there was Anne Holmes Redding, who thought she could be an Anglican priest and a Muslim at the same time:

Then there was John Galienne, a convicted child molester (who had served his time and was free), who was premitted to have a music leadership position in an Ottawa church:

I would have had no problem with him attending the church, but his actions disqualified him from leadership
Then there was the neopagan who was also an Anglican priest, and only resigned his orders when he was found out:
