From here:
The Rt. Rev. Dr. John Saxbee and the Rt. Rev. Dr. Peter Selby have been appointed the first episcopal patrons of the international No Anglican Covenant Coalition, whose slogan is “Anglicans for Comprehensive Unity.”
Oddly enough, Saxbee and Selby are also patrons of the Anglican homosexual lobby group Changing Attitudes. Funny coincidence, that.
You’ve really outdone yourself in the odd words department, this time, David!
I had to look up “exsufflicate” also. Related to “exsufflate”(verb) meaning puffed up, inflated!!!!! I agree…..the old sin of pride, isn’t it? Being able to see the faults in others, but being blind to one’s own faults. I think this danger of pride is why Psalm 95 was used in the opening of Morning Prayer in the BCP. (“Today, O that ye would hear his voice: Harden not your hearts as in the Provocation,…..)This warning is there to warn us of the danger of embarking on a religious path, the danger of pride, spiritual blindness.
Well, yes, and the fact that the word was only used once, by Shakespeare, and never entered common parlance, makes it quite a good score in the “weird words” tally, I think.
Probably makes a good score in WoW too.
