He was correct, of course, and nowhere is it more applicable than in the Anglican Church of Canada, The United Church and TEC, where the imaginary freedom of unfettered gay sex has been set at a higher priority than inconvenient Biblical truth.

Chicago Theological Seminary is a left-wing seminary affiliated with the United Church of Christ. The rainbow fire logo is an LGBT-friendly version of the UCC’s own logo seminary’s logo.
The text advises takers to grab two condoms in case of two orgasms.
It likens the Second Coming of Christ to sex, in particular gay sex.

In reaction the double condom story above, I immediately think of the old phrase “Rome never changes” which was used in contempt of the Roman Catholic “system” when I was 35 years younger attending a fundamentalist/evangelical church and subject to the usual propaganda material readily available to me. In light of the “changes” made by a significant number of Protestants to their various denominations, I’m noting that I no longer hear the Evangelicals spew the old “Rome never changes” line. If they did, it would be reasonable to return to her.

I believe the quote is from Muggeridge’s classoc little volume ‘The End of Christendom’. I may be mistaken. In any case, I found myself pulling my tattered copy from the shelf after the tragic SCOTUS decisions. His words were indeed prophetic.

I couldn’t remember where it came from either, but after looking through my (tattered and yellowed) copy of “Tread Softly for you Tread on my Jokes”, I found the quote in an essay called “Down with Sex”. It also has the marvellous quote:
He may well have used it in “The End of Christendom”, too – I can’t find a copy of that, although I could have sworn I had one at one time.
Thanks for reminding me of that other volume! Must order, as it is not on the shelf. ‘End of Christendom’ rings more loudly with each passing year.
