The waning of the wedding

Marriage is becoming less and less popular; unless you are a homosexual that is – an Anglican homosexual in particular –  and then you simply must get married, otherwise you would feel excluded. And exclusion is the only sin left in the Anglican church; other than telling a bishop he really must believe in the bodily resurrection of Christ, his virgin birth and atoning sacrifice on the cross in order to be a Christian. Oh – and trying to knock his hat off with a snowball.

From here:

The good ol’ tradition of marriage is not extinct, but the numbers certainly are dropping.

Moving up the relationship ranks is the very modern – and considerably cheaper – option of living together, sans the ‘I dos’.

“It’s the first time in Canada there are more unmarried people than married people,” explains Gemini-award winning documentary filmmaker Sue Ridout, producer and director of the new hour-long doc entitled, “Thoroughly Modern Marriage” (Dreamfilm Productions).

But, despite the popularity of common law and even the high rates of divorce, the institution is still likely to survive, Ridout believes.

After extensive research and interviews, spanning from a variety of couples, singles and experts, Ridout suspects future generations will still be booking cake testings, finding perfect dresses and exchanging vows.

“Personally, if I had to bet on it, I’d bet on the institution continuing,” she says.

“But I don’t think we’re going back to the high numbers. Common law is here to stay.”

According to Statistics Canada, in the past 25 years, common-law unions in Canada have more than tripled.

Nowadays, particularly in cultures where women have equal rights and earning power to their male counterparts, something other than economics and family standing is driving forward the desire to walk down the aisle…….

– In the past 25 years, common-law unions in Canada have more than tripled

– At 70%, Hanover, Manitoba has the largest percentage of married adults in Canada (20% higher than the national average)

– The lowest rates of marriage in Canada is Joliette, Quebec, at just 27%

– In less than a decade, mixed race couples have increased by 33%

Marriage as art

Having redefined marriage to mean almost any human, animal or inanimate object union in any combination, some are now on a quest to find a way of further distorting it in order to plumb Add an Imagenew depths of absurdity. In this case, a homosexual man has “married” a heterosexual woman and they are calling it “art”; for all the meaning that it has, they might as well have called it a plate of egg and chips.

From here:

CREATIVE students proved that opposites really do attract when they took their wedding vows – and turned marriage into a work of art.

Nora Battenberg-Cartwright, aged 21, and Paul Cartwright, 20, married in Germany a few days after Christmas to show their commitment to each other – artistically.

However, while they are legally married, live together in the centre of Worcester and are very close friends, Mrs Battenberg-Cartwright is straight, and Mr Cartwright is gay.

The pair, both studying fine art at the University of Worcester, decided to make themselves into an artwork as part of their coursework they are undertaking in their second year.

They make sure they co-ordinate their outfits every day and also make their own clothes – including Mrs Battenberg-Cartwright’s gold wedding dress.

Homosexuality is no longer a disorder in Alberta

From here:

Alberta has removed homosexuality from its diagnostic guide to mental-health disorders.

Alberta Health and Wellness Minister Gene Zwozdesky ordered the section of the document removed Tuesday after a reporter brought the issue to the province’s attention.

“I ordered the immediate removal of something I thought was incorrect, unacceptable, rather ancient in its thinking and otherwise demeaning,” he said Wednesday.

“I’ve also asked for a thorough review of the entire classification categories.”

The diagnostic guide helps doctors decide what to bill for the treatment of patients.

Homosexuality was listed in the guide under sexual deviations and disorders.

The American Psychiatric Association stopped considering homosexuality a disorder in 1973, followed by the Canadian Psychiatric Association in 1982.

Zwozdesky said he doesn’t know why it remained so long on Alberta’s list.

The reasons given for the change are instructive:

something I thought was incorrect is hardly a scientific conclusion based on evidence.

unacceptable is a merely an expression of contemporary mores in much the same vein as frowning on farting at the dinner table.

ancient in its thinking is completely inaccurate considering the thinking in question must have been in vogue in the 1970s.

otherwise demeaning is even less scientifically convincing than the first reason.

It just goes to show that psychiatry owes more to political correctness than it does to empirically verifiable fact.

Homosexual couple buying designer baby

There was a time when people were bought and sold as slaves; those days are over. Or are they?

Adam and Kyle, a homosexual couple, are buying a baby created to their specifications: a designer baby, a Bruno fashion accessory.

Embryos will be screened for suitability and those which don’t measure up will be discarded. How much does a human commodity cost these days? About $100,000.

From here:

A female friend is donating eggs in return for a pair of £2,000 Christian Louboutin designer shoes.

The men rejected one woman who wanted to donate her eggs because: “She hardly had any nice clothes and that’s just not what we want”, Mr Miller said.

Canadian school board wants to know about children’s sexual orientation

From here:

A former Canadian Prime Minister, Pierre Trudeau, once famously quipped: “The state has no business in the bedrooms of the nation.”

Unless, it would seem, the “nation” means schoolchildren ages 12-17, and the “state” is local school board bureaucrats and/or the provincial Ministry of Education.

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (Ontario, Canada) plans to issue a survey which asks, among other things, for children to disclose their gender (four choices) and sexual orientation (nine choices). Proponents claim the survey is voluntary, but rather than requiring parental permission for the survey to be administered, the onus is on parents to opt out in writing (by Nov. 19), if they do not wish their child to participate.

Not surprisingly the survey, which runs Nov. 22 – Dec.10, has sparked controversy:

Some parents say the survey—which also asks about students’ religion, their ethnic backgrounds, who they live with at home, and their parents’ employment [and educational] status—is an invasion of privacy.

Although the survey is touted as being anonymous, each form is tagged with a code that can be traced back to the individual child, and, by extension, his or her family. Critics wonder what kind of inferences will be drawn, and who will have access to information that involves the cultural, religious, financial, and educational status of students’ parents.

The school board, predictably, claims that such delving into personal information is crucial, and ultimately for the students’ own good, so that the school can offer better anti-bullying and anti-homophobia programming.

For anyone wondering what the nine choices are for sexual orientation, they are:

Bisexual Gay (male); Heterosexual (straight); Lesbian (female); Queer Questioning; Transsexual; Two-spirited; Prefer not to disclose.

“Only nine?” I expect you are thinking; what about hermaphrodites, the androgynous, and necrophiliacs? As soon as I’ve finished this I will be writing to the Minister of Education to report this discrimination.

Which reminds me of an episode in Anthony Powell’s great novel series, A Dance to the Music of Time. Powell,  a comic novelist second only to Evelyn Waugh, tells us of the demise of Pamela who hated her husband and had a necrophiliac lover – who couldn’t perform, of course. In order to exact revenge on her husband, she committed suicide, leaving him with the anguish of both losing her for himself and to her lover.

That’s the trouble with school boards today: their narrow little world of “diversity” shows no imagination whatsoever.

Primate Fred Hiltz apologises to gays, lesbians and bisexuals

At a Eucharist to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Integrity, Fred Hiltz apologised to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered Anglicans for hurting them. He didn’t extend the apology to sadomasochist Anglicans for the obvious reason.

From here (Page 8):

AT a 35th anniversary celebration for Integrity, the organization for Anglican gays, lesbians and bisexuals, the primate, Archbishop Fred Hiltz, publicly apologized for the hurt the church had inflicted on gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people.

“I know many of you have suffered the consequences of homophobia in the church,” he said. “I know many of you have suffered subtle forms of persecution.” He acknowledged that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people have been labeled as disordered and unnatural, have suffered anxiety and depression and “have been pressured to hide the truth about what you are.”

He said, “I stand before you as one member of the church called by office to care for all members of the church.” He admitted the church had silenced them, refused to listen to them, and failed to see them as deeply committed to the church. Then, speaking slowly and emphatically, he said, “I am sorry for the many ways in the past, and maybe in the present, in which you have been hurt by the church. I am sorry.”

Missed opportunity for a homosexual Saudi prince

A homosexual Saudi prince beat his lover to death and can’t return to his own country because – although murder of a servant isn’t a real problem –  Saudi Arabia, being founded on the religion of peace, would put him to death for being gay.

If only he had married his catamite instead of murdering him, he could have applied to the priesthood of the Anglican Church of Canada and, as a homosexual Muslim, been guaranteed a bishopric within a few years. He could still apply after he is released; he’d have to find another catamite, of course.

From here:

He must serve a minimum term of 20 years in jail for murdering Bandar Abdulaziz in a ”brutal” assault at their five-star hotel.

If he ever returns to his home country, Saud faces the possibility of execution because being gay is a capital offence there.

US general against repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell"

From here:

WASHINGTON — As many as 95 percent of Marines would be uncomfortable serving alongside openly gay troops, the retiring commandant of the Marine Corps told Fox News in an exclusive interview.

Gen. James Conway told Fox News’ Jennifer Griffin that a majority of his men and women think a repeal of the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy barring gays from serving openly will be problematic, so he has to believe that, too.

“When we take a survey of our Marines, by and large, they say that they are concerned that it will cause potential problems with regard to their order and discipline — that it will impact their sense of unit cohesion,” Conway said.

Gen. Conway was the first member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to speak out against a repeal earlier this year after Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Joint Chiefs Chairman Admiral Mike Mullen publicly endorsed President Obama’s desire to change the law.

The percentage of homosexuals in the military is in the “low single digits”, so why is this policy being repealed? Because it “infringes on fundamental rights”? – then why join the military; there is nothing quite as right infringing as being shot at by inconsiderate enemies. To make 3% of the military comfortable while making 90% uncomfortable? Because it has been illegal for the last 17 years and someone has just noticed? For the application of that elusive commodity, fairness?

Or to make the military compliant with the psychoses of our homosexualised culture?

White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett apologises to the gay community

From here:

White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett  apologized to the gay community Thursday after she referred to homosexuality as a “lifestyle choice” during a discussion about the wave of recent teen suicides.

“I meant no disrespect to the LGBT community, and I apologize to any who have taken offense at my poor choice of words,” Jarrett said in a written statement.

Perish the though of showing disrespect to anyone; that would never do.

Of course, by making this – undoubtedly, Inquisition-coerced – politically correct recantation, Valerie Jarrett has shown disrespect for those who have chosen to be gay and are proud of it.

All of which goes to show that anyone saying anything about anyone who is gay will sooner or later be made to regret it by the 21st century manners-nouveau Gestapo.

Diocese of Montreal gains new staff member: author of “Sanctity and Male Desire: A Gay Reading of Saints”

From here (page 12):

A scholar who once served as dean of students at Concordia University is joined the staff of St. Matthias’ Church in Westmount, effective September 19. Don Boisvert is in his final year of study at the Montreal Diocesan Theological College and is completing his “in-ministry” requirement for graduation. He has a Ph.D. from the University of Ottawa and two books and several scholarly articles to his credit.

Born in the United States of French-Canadian parents, he studied for several years at a Roman Catholic seminary and is still on the faculty at Concordia. He specializes in the history of Christianity, religion and sexuality and religion in Canada. He was received into the Anglican Church of Canada last year and is married to Gaston Lamontagne, his partner for 34 years.

“Sanctity and Male Desire: A Gay Reading of Saints” is Boisvert’s attempt to see the traditional saints through a haze of homoeroticism:

he constructs an image of a perfectly shaped, highly eroticized male body ascribed to each of the saints. This imagined saintly body is repeatedly described as “beautiful,” “erotic,” “titillating,” “handsome,” “bare-chested,” “naked” or “semi-naked,” “muscular,” “glorious,” “ragged” and endowed with “perfection,” “virile masculinity,” “masculine strength,” etc. More often than not, the saints of old appear in a body conforming to the modern norm for gay beauty.

And we mustn’t leave out his homoerotic fantasies of Jesus:

Though Boisvert imagines Jesus to be a “handsome man,” “caring and attentive, sensitive yet principled” and working “bare-chested in the burning sun” (p. 180), he is attracted also to the “broken body” of Christ. The crucified Jesus (a “handsomely glorious body of Jesus [hanging] from the cross” (p. 171)) “elicits strong feelings of comfort and passive submission, the male docile and compliant body.” Yet, this submissiveness is immediately complemented by the symbol of the “lion” with its “brute aggressive force, the male as dominant energy and the definite top” (p. 170). Not surprisingly, the “fully male, genitally endowed” sculpture of Michelangelo’s Risen Christ, with its “muscular arms, thighs and buttocks” (p. 177), commands Boisvert’s admiration.

Just what the Anglican Church of Canada needs on staff: a homosexual, “married” to a man, who is so immersed in his twisted little world of gay sex that, when he writes a book about Jesus and the saints, he cannot see beyond the end of his genitals.
