Oklahoma Satanists want to erect a monument to Satan, claiming that they are entitled to equal time with Christians. The monument will be tasteful – at least to Satanists – and will portray the “historic/literary Satan”. Here’s a “literary” version of Satan in the Ninth Circle of Hell from Dante’s Inferno, although I doubt that that is what they have in mind. They may settle on the historical interpretation instead: a snake.
For children, there will be an interactive display: push a button to see an animated depiction of Satanic child ritual abuse, perhaps.
Such is the price of indiscriminate religious equality.

“We believe that all monuments should be in good taste and consistent with community standards,” Greaves wrote in letter to state officials. “Our proposed monument, as an homage to the historic/literary Satan, will certainly abide by these guidelines.”
Greaves said one potential design involves a pentagram, a satanic symbol, while another is meant to be an interactive display for children. He said he expects the monument, if approved by Oklahoma officials, would cost about $20,000.
It is, of course, a try-on. I hope this impudent scoundrel is sent about his business. This sort of thing is the natural consequence of the false proposition that all “religions” are the same.
You are absolutely correct. This is indeed a natural consequence from the apostate leadership within the ACoC which also results in desecration of the Eucharist. If Christ was not THE WAY as Christ clearly states in the Scriptures, then his death on the cross was for naught.
How can this have anything to do with the ACC? This is happening in the US.
In any case, I’m pretty sure Christianity can withstand this onslaught. Let them have their fun.
Vincent, I usually agree with “let it be” philosophy. Unfortunately, Satan NEVER let’s it be. I had the joy/sorrow of working with a foster daughter who had been raised in a Satanic cult: sexual abuse, murder, buried alive were some of the activities she survived. Satan must never be honoured – we must present him with the shed blood of Jesus at all opportunities. Permission to raise statues? NEVER!!!!!!

I have to wonder what cheap piece of crap, sorry “dignified respectful to community standards”, type of memorial they will be able to put up for such a small amount of money. My first sentiment was correct. It will be a cheap piece of crap. Done most likely as a pathetic attempt at attention getting.
If they want a monument to Satan, why don’t they propose something less literary and more historical. For example a series of heroic sculptures of Satan’s representatives: Hitler, Pol Pot, Jeffrey Dahmer, Gengis Kahn, Kermit Gosnell, etc? See how that flies with town council. By his fruit ye shall know him.
Perhaps Oklahoma Satanists want to worship Satan only, not his followers (e.g. Hitler, Pol Pot, etc.). Satan is real. He believes in the existence of God; but he worships himself, not God.
