Man jailed for leaving a pig’s head outside mosque

From the BBC:

A man has been jailed for three months for dumping a pig’s head outside a mosque in Berkshire.

Rory Rowbottom, from Thatcham, left the animal’s head at the mosque on Pound Street in Newbury on 23 October.

Rowbottom pleaded guilty to one count of racially aggravated harassment and a section 4 public order offence at Reading Magistrates’ Court.it’s every Westerner’s duty to loath his heritage

Ch Insp Lindsey Finch said his actions had left the community “distressed and horrified”.

Meanwhile, those who display Christ in urine and the Virgin Mary in elephant dung are treated with impunity because it’s every Westerner’s duty to loath his heritage; any expression of this loathing is art.

  1. The connection between the examples you cite is for me a bit of a stretch. If someone broke into a church and urinated on the altar or dumped a truckload of elephant shit (only politically correct people call it dung) inside of a Church, I would imagine charges would be laid.

My brother is a doctor and he tells me that if a patient thinks something may be infected then it probably is infected, so he as a doctor should pay attention to that. When a redneck from Saskatchewan thinks your rants are starting to sound racist, then maybe it is time to tone it down a little?

    • SLF: in my experience (in Kenya) Elephant excrement, when fresh, is more like compost than shit. When dry it is an insect colony. I think it deserves a different name, so I use “dung.”

How’s that for not focusing on the Blog topic?

  2. There is, as we all know, no greater sin than racism. Unless, of course, we’re talking about the sin of homophobia. Just as we all know multiculturalism is an unqualified good.

I saw a video on youtube yesterday purporting to be of a Muslim in a Muslim area of London harassing an apparently gay man. He was calling him names, telling him to get out of the ‘Muslim area.’

    • Actually Lisa I have found that there is a greater sin that the ones you have mentioned, namely commenting on a fat woman’s size.

  3. A savage sentence for a minor offence. Had he merely robbed, beaten up, threatened or whatever, he would probably not even seen jail. But then the “offence” is political; and so is the court.

It is very sad to see English justice corrupted like this.

  4. @Saschatechwan Lutheran:
What do you think might happen if someone produced an art display featuring a Qur’an and a slab of bacon? Or, a model of the Dome of the Rock surrounded by a moat of camel urine? Do you really think the law is equal between protected groups and culture and the unprotected group and culture?

    • People, who are lot smarter than I, keep saying that hypothetical examples are irrelevant. They tell me to insist on an example of something that has actually happened and to ignore an example of something that only exists in the other person’s imagination.

Moral relativism does work for me either. That is like being charged for assault and your whole defence is based upon pointing to the other man in the next court room charged with murder and insisting that you should go free because you are obviously not as bad as him… at least you didn’t kill her.

  5. Er … just to be clear, now: Is there really anyone out there who actually believes that the law, and most of the media (particularly the BBC) is not totally biased against anything or anyone Christian? (I’m talking about the UK, principally)(Oh, sure, I realise that the BBC would SAY that they’re not anti-Christian, but only the deluded or the mad-and-bad would believe them).
