Jerash

Some photos of the ancient city of Jerash, from my recent trip to Jordan. More here.

Yes, they should have been in school, but peddling rubbish to tourists is more profitable, in the short term, at least:

A pagan temple; or Anglican Church of Canada parish, take your pick:

  1. Truly stunning photographs. I have never heard of Jerash before – an oversight in my geographical education to be sure – so these pictures sent me off to do some further research and reading. The internet being the internet, I finally ended up reading about the national dish of Jordan (a stomach-churning presentation of mutton) and Moroccan cuisine!

I always appreciate your photographs, David.

  2. Jerash is in northern Jordan. The country is a quiet, peaceful place. It has many amazing sights such as Petra and the Dead Sea. English is widely spoken. A trip is very much recommended.
