The motion to change the marriage canon to accommodate same-sex couples is unlikely to pass at the Anglican General Synod in July, so liberal Anglicans are looking for ways to circumvent the vote.
Michael Coren, who may or may not have inside information on the machinations of the post-Christian contingent of the Anglican Church of Canada, has elucidated in this article a hitherto unexplored way of twisting Scripture to justify the unjustifiable:
In Canada, the most plausible hope is probably some sort of creative compromise where the canon is amended to allow for a marriage liturgy that would include same-sex couples, based around a theology inspired by Acts 10. This is the passage where the Roman centurion Cornelius is accepted by St. Peter, who says, “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favouritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right.” The Kosher laws are no longer required; God’s plan extends to all. Applied to sexuality, God’s love is for all: Jew and gentile, straight and gay.
It’s far from ideal, but the reality is that equal marriage simply won’t be achieved in the short-term. If an amendment satisfies enough people and is purely optional it might, just might, be acceptable to all sides. As such it could enable the Canadian church to avoid the treatment handed to the Americans.
Just further proof of the fact that the ACOC has completely abandoned any claim to be Christian and have decided to worship the “god” of political correctness instead of showing proper leadership to both its members and government. The true Church is called upon to witness to the Gospel whereas apostates such as Fred Hiltz and other bogus bishops continue to denounce both the authority of Scripture and the uniqueness of Jesus Christ. By their actions they have shown themselves unworthy of their position and should be immediately defrocked. Bishops that claim to be orthodox need to stand up against this apostasy and I am waiting to see if any have the dedication to take on this task.
Rebellious egogesis of + Acts 10:
“…through His Name whosoever believeth in Him shall receive remission of sins”:
Not REVISION of sins. Forbid water.
From the article “…some gay priests and bishops routinely vote against same-sex marriage. Their double standard is astounding.”
Actually Mr Coren’s judgementalism is astounding here. Why should a priest with same-sex attraction, yet who believes in traditional Christian standards of sexuality, and who is living celibately, not vote against gay marriage? It is akin to accusing any heterosexual person of hypocrisy if they are not in favour of adultery.
To quote every Star Wars character ever, “I’ve got a bad feeling about this.”
Further to which: the Friday the 13th totally one-sided CBC interview consigning the interviewee to the endless limbo of non-self forgiveness for his now confessed former benighted bigotry, and yes, when pressed on the point,”hatred”. All of this perpetual pain because ‘Epiphany’ took place, and the RC Church which once was “right” now is wrong; and the darkness now become light. – which contradictory illumination he intends to share at the ACC’s July General Synod. After all, he avers, the ‘sin’ is only named six times in Holy Writ:and NEVER once by Jesus. Whew!
Did not Jesus not only write Genesis, but IS Genesis,”The Angel of The Covenant”?
+ John 1 + Luke 24:44 + The Revelation of Jesus Christ 19:13.
Light would be helpful.
+ Divine light + Verbum dat Lucem + John 17:17.
