The Council of General Synod of the Anglican Church of Canada met in May to discuss, among other things, anti-racism, repudiation of the Doctrine of Discovery, Vision 2019, and how to mangle the Marriage Canon.
The complete highlights can read here, but for those who are reluctant to wade through that ponderous document and would like a summary of how effectively these deliberations will further the Kingdom of Christ in the twenty first century, the following extract will suffice:
Council members took a short coffee break from 10:15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
“… St. Phillip and St. James from his book Heralds of God: Homilies for Saints and Holy Days and asked council members to ponder the question: What gifts do you recognize on yourself …”: with both a spelling and a grammatical mistake committed in these very few words, one has to wonder about the mental clarity of this body of people. Perhaps the spelling was Herbie’s, he who published a whole book years ago with “Dionysius” for “Dionysus” throughout. But someone ought to have caught it!
Thanks for the link. Makes me rejoice all over again that I’m not part of such a shambles. BTW, what on earth is ‘white privilege’?
I think “white privilege” has something to do with working, which results in earning, which leads to enjoying the fruits of our labours.
Oh. You mean as in having a job and paying taxes. I know about that. Privileges, not so much.
“White privilege” is a doctrine the apostate bishops within the ACoC seem to believe. They believe their white collars and purple shirts trump any authority of Scripture.
Sort of reminds me of the civil servant mentality.
Haha you nailed the highlights 🙂
