How unfortunate that the Bishop had to turn the other cheek for so many years. I am sure that if he had called you or e-mailed you and shared with you the pain that your satirical postings were causing him and his family you would have responded appropriately.
Scripture calls us to show compassion, mercy, and love even to our enemies. I don’t remember where it said take them to court first, seek financial compensation and then provide the forgiveness. I must have missed that part.
David, did the bishop ever contact you first to talk about the problem, or did he proceed straight to suing you?

If bullying is wrong , they need to stop bullying orthodox anglicans. So ironic.
The irony here is killing me, Bishop Bird accusing David of being the Bully. When in reality, IMHO, this Bishop is the king of Bullies. Under his leadership as Bishop (protector of the flock), he has removed hundreds of Bible believing Anglicans from their church buildings which these congregations have built and maintained with their own generous givings over the years. If brutally taking these church buildings from these Anglicans was not enough, he turns around and then sells them and pockets all the money for his diocese . One of the more modern churches was totally destroyed and all that is left is a field. This was a place where Almighty God was constantly present and was loved and worshiped and where Christ centered ministry was shared with the local community! The Bishop here has not acted as protector of the flock but rather as destroyer of this place of worship and ministry.
Another church building was turned into a secular meeting place for dancers, pottery, ceramics, arts and crafts, etc. “NO PEWS – GOOD NEWS” were the headlines in the Hamilton Spectator. I can’t help but wonder what God thinks of all this.
These actions are all characteristics of a mean spirited bully. Perhaps the Bishop should take a good, long, honest and prayerful look in the mirror.
The most effective response to the bishop is to plant and build up loving, holy, spirit-filled Anglican congregations in his diocese.
