Diocese of Niagara: hey buddy, can you spare a dime?

The Diocese of Niagara’s Rev. Martha Tatarnic took over Brian Ruttan’s diocesan congregation at St. Hilda’s building this Sunday.

It’s good to see optimism and ambition at work: Martha has asked for her own phone line and would like the sign on the front lawn changed to include her name. And guess who she is expecting to pay for this? St. Hilda’s ANiC, of course, because the Diocese of Niagara is flat broke and has not given her any money.

Brings tears to the eyes, doesn’t it.

  1. I wonder whatever happened to “praying for those who persecute you” – I guess some people don’t really like the guy who said it, so they have to be mean about it. If Rev. Tatarnic has persecuted you in some way, pray for her. But if you call yourself Christian, then, please act Christian. Is this in anyway edifying? Does it extend the Gospel? I urge you to think about it, then pray about it

  2. Oh, I’m not sure if you are actually letting people know what is going on. Taking a low level employee and scapgoating her is not exactly “kosher” nor is it getting to the facts. And if you are, in fact a nasty old meanie – then you, as an evangelical, need to repent and change you way of life. I guess it goes to that old saw, “practice what you preach”. Otherwise you are misrepresenting yourself as an evangelical.
