From here:
Ash Wednesday, blessedly not raining, was bright with early spring sunshine which was welcomed because we went out on the road that afternoon. Signed with ashes, reminded that we are of earth and to earth we shall return, we gathered after the Eucharist, robed in albs and blessed by the community, to take ashes and the invitation to repentance and reconciliation to the neighbourhood.
Notice that rather than the usual “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return”, we have the Gaia cult incantation: “reminded that we are of earth and to earth we shall return”.
Here is a poster for the event.
Hey…………if it gets them in the door, I am all for it. That first step, might lead to some teaching that resonates.
Just a thought.
“How you live” … and how well lawyered up you are.
“How you live MATTERS.” Is it just me or does this come across as that it is “good works” that matters and not believing in Jesus Christ?
Lets not slag all lawyers now. Some are worse than others that’s all.
Hello Jim,
Not too long ago I watched a program about training fighter pilots. One trainee was given the call sign “Slag”, which was an acronym for something he did in the cockpit during one of the exercises, “Scream Like
A Girl”.
A wag on Stand Firm referred to this as “Ash and Dash.”
Actually my reference is taken from the working class British dictionary. It’s a great book.
The term ‘slag’ is used to denigrate or bad mouth an individual.
The Diocese of New Westminster under the leadership of the apostate Michael Ingham has abandoned any genuine faith. Tragically that disease has spread throughout the AcoC. The only possible hope is for genuine repentance on the part of the primate and other so-called bishops and clergy within the ACoC. Currently any blessing they might suggest is completely bogus.
