From here:
Bishop Jane is pleased to appoint Sarah Ficko as Environment Chaplain. Sarah is a member of the St. Aidan’s community and St. George’s, Edmonton.
Other than supervising the diocesan Gaia worship, I’m not entirely sure what an Environment Chaplain does.
We may glean a clue from the speciality of the person who was appointed: it is saving lichens. I can only assume that Bishop Jane Alexander, having given up on – or, perhaps, being unable to see the need for – the saving of souls has turned to something easier. The saving of foliage.
A good one, David. Have appreciated your coverage of the AC of C séance very much.

By our LORD’s appointment, the moderator is correct, that position already has been filled:
“Now learn a parable of the fig tree, When his branch is yet tender,
and putteth for his leaves, ye know that summer is nigh…
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My WORDs shall not pass away…
As in the days of Noah were, so shall also the Coming of The Son of Man be…marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the Ark,
and knew not that the Flood came, and took them all away;…
Then shall two be in the field, the one shall be taken,
and the other left…”
+ Matthew 24:32-51
This is an astoundingly ignorant, crass, and disrespectful commentary. Being chaplains to the environment is the first and most basic human vocation. Sarah is a young woman of deep faith in Christ who does the work she does on the basis of the doctrines of creation and Incarnation. You denigrate the Lord’s call and the Spirit’s gifts by mocking this appointment. Shame.
Sarah might well have a deep faith in Christ but working under an apostate bishop will definitely corrupt that faith. The ACoC first need is orthodox leadership that fully accepts both the authority of Scripture and the uniqueness of Jesus Christ. The recent events at Synod clearly shows apostasy reigns within the ACoC. God’s word is NOT subject to the opinion of society or the approval of any so-called bishop.
