From here:
A gay vicar from Kilburn has vowed to marry his partner of 14 years despite the risk that he could be thrown out of the Church of England.
Fr Andrew Cain from St Mary’s with All Souls, revealed his engagement to fiancé Stephen Foreshew, an atheist, on Valentine’s Day.
He stated firmly that he planned to ignore edicts sent down from his own church leaders that described marriage as only a “lifelong union between one man and one woman”.
I have a suggestion for Messrs. Cain and Foreshew: move to Canada. Since the Anglican Church of Canada worships the triune god of Inclusion, Diversity and Homo-erotic sex, along with assorted demigods – eco-justice, utopianism and smudging among others – you will be welcomed with open arms. The additional benefit of your wife-husband being an atheist would make you a shoe-in. I’d start with an application to the Diocese of Montreal, if I were you.
It’s difficult to decide on what biblical passage to use for this story: the one about not yoking oneself to a non-believer or the one where Jesus reaffirms marriage as being between a man and a woman. 😛 🙂 hehehehe
So this “priest” has had a homosexual “luster” (I refuse to call what homosexual do “love”) for the past 14 years, in direct violation of God’s laws against sex outside of marriage! Sounds to me like this person really is not a priest at all.
Christian Biblical choice: the Collar or the ring.
You are absolutely right when you state he is not a priest at all. By his actions he has clearly denounced his vows and also denounced any authority of Scripture. Like many so-called bishops within the ACoC and the TEC he should be defrocked until he makes a genuine repentance.
Please don’t come to Canada ,We already have enough heretics. Do the honorable thing and become an atheist like your partner or turn from you wickedness and live.
The same one of the Thirty-nine Articles that states that: “the unworthiness of the minister does not hinder the effectiveness of the sacraments,” also mentions that “scandal should be avoided, and those involved should be referred to the appropriate body to be dealt with.”
