In July this year, Fred Hiltz is retiring as Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada. Here are the replacement candidates:
The Right Reverend Jane Alexander of the diocese of Edmonton;
The Most Reverend Ron Cutler of the diocese of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island and Metropolitan of the Ecclesiastical Province of Canada;
The Most Reverend Gregory Kerr-Wilson of the diocese of Calgary and Metropolitan of the Ecclesiastical Province of Rupert’s Land;
The Right Reverend Linda Nicholls of the diocese of Huron; and
The Right Reverend Michael Oulton of the diocese of Ontario.
It goes without saying that they range from the theologically liberal to hyper-liberal and all are in favour of same-sex marriage.
The only surprise is that no married lesbian atheist was available to stand.
Actually I have never thought of Kerr-Wilson as being liberal. If he’s not, of course, he doesn’t stand a chance.
I think you have the wrong picture here David. Surely this is good old Fred dropping in on a rehabilitation centre somewhere.
Unless the next Primate is prepared to stand for the TRUTH and not worship the “god of political expediency” the ACoC will continue to descend into the pit of apostasy.

She gives one of the most dishonest speeches ever. To LGBT people she says, “You are not an abomination…” NO ONE SAID THEY WERE !!! The Bible doesn’t say they are. It speaks of the act, not the people. She is totally unfit to be the leader of even a so-called Christian organization, so I predict she will probably win.

I’m in the Archdiocese of Calgary, and I wouldn’t call Kerr-Wilson ‘liberal.’ Not at all. He is one of the few, the very few, orthodox bishops left.

The last I heard, he was still prevaricating; an odd thing to do if he is orthodox. Although, I imagine he is under a lot of pressure to submit to the ecclesiastical Zeitgeist.
