Most Anglican clergy go to enormous lengths to torture the plain language of Scripture until it concedes that there really is nothing wrong with homosexual activity.
Rev Clifford Hall in Barbados has taken a different approach: he told marchers in the local pride parade that what the Bible says is irrelevant because it is just some “silly words written in a book thousands of years ago”.
Clifford has come out of the closet and openly stated what most of his fellow clergy secretly think of the Bible.
From here:
At a gay pride parade last week, Father Clifford Hall told marchers that nothing can stop their movement, “…legions of Pharisees won’t stop it… the roaring lion won’t stop it. And some silly words written in a book thousands of years ago won’t stop it.”
His words were met by loud applause from parade attendees. Hall also told them they were accepted into the “flock of Christ” and that God is willing to give them the Kingdom.
He also claimed that homosexuality has “always been part of the natural order of things.”
Why does this guy continue to call himself a Christian. Why does he continue to pretend to be a Priest. After all if the Holy Bible is nothing more than just “silly words” than just ignore the entire thing. Oh but he likes the parts about “love” and “forgiveness”. So he picks and choses those parts that he likes and will accept them. But the parts that he has a problem with is the “silly words” stuff that he says we can all ignore.
Either the Holy Bible is the authoritative Word of God, or it is nothing more than a collection of mortal writings. All of it is either one or the other, and it cannot be a mixed up conglomeration of both. Why you may ask. Simply this. If any of the Holy Bible is the Word of God than God would not have allowed His Word to be infected by anything else. So you either take it all, or you ignore it all! But if it is only mortal writings why couldn’t we accept some and not all. Because the arguments that these sin-seekers use to undermine the parts they do not like are equally applicable to all parts.
I am so disgusted with these people. They lie, they cheat, they sin, and they discredit the legitimate Christian Faith. And so I for one have no reservations about publically stating that people like this Mr. Hall ARE NOT CHRISTIANS!!!!
You are absolutely correct in stating this apostate is NOT Christian. That should not be too surprising considering that most co-called bishops within the ACoC and the TEC are apostates and worship that detestable “god of political expediency” and have turned their back on the GOD of the Scriptures. One can only ask when is the Anglican Communion going to take action to remove these apostates from office.
Check the content label on your clothes then tell me why you shouldn’t be stoned. While you’re at it,got a daughter you want to sell?
Hello Mr. Cohn. Every so often we need a comment like that to remind us of what some people think. By the way, when you have a moment, do look up the requirements of the Jerusalem Council in Acts 15:1-29. Thank you and prayers.
Think? Such comments do not indicate much thought. Just mindless boilerplate.
Murray Cohn
You comment only demonstrates your ignorance and extreme lack of understanding about the Christian Faith. Before you try to portray me as a hypocrite you should make an effort to become better informed. Otherwise you only come across and intolerant and bigoted against Christians.
Follow the money trail …
It’s an absolutely tragic thing that that pesky fellow Jesus of Nazareth landed us with those “silly words” and the necessity of coming to terms with them. Really cramps my style sometimes.
Those who believe that the Bible is just some “silly words” should start burning all copies of it.
Really? Normally book-burning happens only in the case of what is dangerous, not what is nugatory.
People like Father Hall certainly do not need the Bible. The Bible is no use to them. Mind you, there are difficult Bible verses to preach on, e.g. Deuteronomy 25:11-12; 23:1; Judges 3:19-25; Ezekiel 23:19-20;16:17; Exodus 4:24-25; I Samuel 18:25-27; Genesis 38:8-10; II Kings 2:23-24, etc. Christians should not worry about those things that are difficult to understand, but focus on the simple truth that we do understand and go from there. Perhaps the so-called “silly things” are the things we do not want to listen to.
‘He also claimed that homosexuality has “always been part of the natural order of things”.’
Um…so? There are lots of things that have been part of the natural (or unnatural) “order of things” that the Bible addresses. Murder, incest, theft, adultery, idolatry, etc., etc.. Is it possible that the smaller the mind the more compartmentalized the thinking, however illogical?
Just a mountebank.
