A perfect candidate for bishop in the US Episcopal Church

A little over a decade ago, ex-MI5 agent David Shayler was facing prosecution under the Official Secrets Act as a whistleblower.

Today the 43-year-old is a squatter who declares that the ‘world will end in 2012’ and dresses as a transvestite called ‘Delores Kane’ complete with false breasts, mini-skirt and ginger wig.

Yesterday, posing in a wig and miniskirt and wearing false breasts, he said: ‘I know in my heart that I am Christ and I am here to save humanity.’

In fact, judging by that last sentence, he’s after Katharine Jefferts-Schori’s job.

  1. Many of your posts are saddening and indeed very un-Christian. There is much theological and canonical disagreement within the Church and discussion on those disagreements is necessary and welcomed.

Instead you taunt and mock, like the pharisees of the Gospel.

+Katharine may not express your views of Christ’s message, and indeed she may not be “Anglican” (time, and the actions of the instruments of Communion will tell), but she is the elected leader of the ECUSA and an ordered cleric in Christ’s church, ordained in the line of episcopal succession. If that itself doesn’t deserve your respect, the fact that she is a human being, created in the image of God and loved by our Saviour should.

I pray for you and your heart and soul which, it seems, is clouded with hate.

  2. Matthew, I see that the postings about TEC USA / +Schori may be mocking, but, being rational and level-headed (as I think you would wish) it has to be acknowledged that, as far as we outside the USA know, TEC USA has ceased to be an authentic Christian church some while ago, and this being due to things other than their LGBT agenda. It is widely said that: they abandoned the idea of Jesus’s divinity, jettisoned the idea of sin, treated likewise the unique nature of Jesus and his unique role in salvation, ditched the idea of mission, and espoused multi-faith syncretism of the most extreme kind. Such “churches”, and their leaders, are not really worthy of any respect, and their orders compromised out of existence. Actually, I don’t think the Pharisees are portrayed as mockers; far too serious for that, surely.

  3. Mathew,
Respect has to be earned and Schori has in no way earned mine.
She is the prime implement of destruction of TEC (it’s ASA is in free fall!)and she is playing a pivotal role in the break-up of the Anglican Communion.
An observation: when one is accusing another of having a heart and soul ” clouded with hate”, one should be careful they are not projecting.
    Peace,
    Jim
