The Day Strong Men Wept

On their way to the Annual General Meeting of the Ontario Prayer Book Society, a car full of BCP enthusiasts were diverted by traffic past St. Hilda’s building in Oakville. Overcome with grief at the perfidy of the Diocese of Niagara puppets that are infesting the building, they disembarked and wept openly over the sign.

Update: it seems this lamentation is for “that sad situation: Saint Hilda’s Oakville”, not perfidy at all. Pity.

Having seen this touching display, St. Hilda’s ANiC is using the BCP much more often.

  1. I’m curious about the banner with the numbers on it. Is it keeping a running count of the number of people who have left the Diocese of Niagara?

  2. I have found a copy of the PBSC newsletter this is from and it does not say anything about “grief at the perfidy of the Diocese of Niagara puppets” but merely says they landed up at “that sad situation: Saint Hilda’s Oakville. See the effects of such an event”. You can see it on the PBSC website at http://www.pbsgreaterniagara.org. The PBSC tries to stand above all the politics and most are saddened by all the rhetoric and bad feelings. Do not put words into their mouth. Blame for this situation rests on all.

  3. Was once part of PBS Vancouver, BC got removed over Anglican split because my former Parish of St John’s (Shaughnessy) was against blessing of same sex unions resulting in asking PBS to close & hand over all back to PBS.

Very divisive but time will tell; furthermore, Kinsey Report mentions 10% & Evangelical Fellowship of Canada mentions only 3% of population not heterosexual.

3% of Vancouverites attend Church & only 12% of Catholics.

We’re not talking about a big changing deal are we?

    So, what’s the big deal?

I’ve heard this topic so much in my life it’s not funny -enough is enough!
