The Anglican Church of Canada is groping to find the reason for the catastrophic decline in attendance revealed by recently published statistics. Unsurprisingly, none of the clergy seem able to grasp the obvious: no one is interested in what the ACoC has to say because it has become transparently clear to all but the most gullible that it no longer believes in what it is peddling.
Rev. Alison Hari-Singh has added her voice to those looking for a culprit responsible for the ACoC’s near-death experience. Science, immigrants and scandal are easy targets even if they have, for some strange reason, concentrated their malign efforts mostly on Anglican and other mainline denominations.
What is the solution? Well, we have to “reimagine” God, his attributes and our faith. Of course, by doing so, we will end up with an imaginary god – which was what brought things to this sorry state in the first place.
From here:
We must reimagine the entire edifice of our faith, including what we mean by “God” and divine attributes of sovereignty, providence and love that we so often instinctively depend on. In short, we must embrace a radical theology of risk, unhindered by suspicion and fear of the unknown. We cannot be afraid of what Peter Berger called “the heretical imperative.” What will happen when we undertake together this fundamental reimagination? Our liturgies will become more creative. Our mission—our love for the world—will be intensified. Our imitation of Jesus will be palpable.
Reality test: The early church built on the apostolic foundation found, you know, in Scripture. The Church grew exponentially. How much “reimagining” of the apostolic witness did the fledgling early churches do/use/need?
It’s Liberalism that’s been around for so long ingrained into out culture is going on here
That’s the Dynamic but the personality entities seem to be older while the younger seem to go for more Conservative Theology
What is the solution? Well, we have to “reimagine” God, his attributes and our faith.
That’s -their solution- to these situations of Low Attendance in the Anglican Church of being blamed on Science, immigrants & scandal used as easy targets- to invent a ‘New God’ feeling the present God is to blame on this.
I see the solutions in the studying of The Word like Eph 6 & Spiritually Grasping putting on the Full Armour of God for one thing & it goes on from there.
Spiritually Grasping John 3:3 Being Born Again
But Liberalism doesn’t do that but rather compromises on the Interpretation of Scripture from an Orthodox Point Of View
But what they’re doing here is -Blaming Conservative Theology- for blaming easy targets of Science, Immigrants & Scandal but not blaming Liberal Theology for this at all?
As I have stated in previous comments the correct terminology within the Anglican Communion and other denominations is orthodoxy – when you accept fully the authority of Scripture and adhere to same – or apostasy – when you change or modify the authority of Scripture and teach only what one thinks is right regardless of THE WORD. Tragically the ACoC and many other denominations have adopted APOSTASY and at least within the ACoC such action has not only been adopted by the APOSTATE leaders but it has waged war against those who adhere to THE WORD and has used the civil courts to evict true Christians and legally steal their property..
The clergy seem almost manic, I’ve heard one wax eloquent about how this is more like the primitive church so it is better. The question of the mental health of the clergy driving the anglican church in this dominion into the ground (ive read the statue changing the name, all it does is change the name of the federal synod) is an important one.
Take how many of them dislikee Trump and say so from the pulpit. How would a Trump fan feel? Unwelcome. And even if you think Trump supporters are the biggest sinners in the world, wouldnt you want to have them in church? A sick man needs medicine, not a healthy one.
So there are a number of issues, but the immaturity of the clergy re politics, science, etc. Is a big problem.
Is this person quite sure of the meaning of ‘palpable’?
Gibberish in = Gibberish out. Painful to watch.
From what I observe “Much learning maketh thee mad” . Gnosticism appears to have taken over humility , wisdom sand understanding. Only Divine intervention can only save the ACoC Let those of the true Christian faith pray to that end
If one really wants to open up to God & prays, God will do God’s Will on that
Rev. Alison Hari-Singh is the Priest above am a bit turned off by her but at the same time quite interested; furthermore, Christians have been in India since the 1st Century having surnames like, ‘Jacob’, ‘Paul’, etc but not her. Is she from a 1st Century Christian background or a later convert?
Anyways, it’s all about the -Power Of Prayer- in all matters.
Asking the Holy Spirit to convict us of our sins.
We cannot save ourselves. Everybody, including the founder of Trumpism, needs the Saviour.
